Chef Caroline was one of TEN finalists from all over the state competing for the title of "2017 Royal Chef to the King and Queen" at the Texas Renaissance Festival. She finished in the TOP THREE. Caroline is very proud of this accomplishment.
Caroline's smile and delicious #TamaleMagic pushed her to the front of the competition for this award.
I don’t know how this happened, what for or why. All I know is that my Mom and sisters lost their homes during Allison. I saw people being evacuated by boat from their homes during Harvey. I could not sit by doing nothing in my warm home and dry bed. I did none of this for recognition or promotion and I don’t think anyone else did. I worked with a team of women. Women who worked along side me tirelessly every day. We worked back to back in my tiny kitchen. We had one common goal and that was for us to give people a warm meal. Something other than a cold sandwich or junk. Many people, fellow restaurant owners and organizations teamed together to feed thousands. Many other businesses besides mine. Many other people pitched in and gave parts of themselves in the dishes prepared and shared. I’ve never been more proud and grateful. Thank you to everyone who helped to feed even one person. It made a difference in their life and I know this experience made a difference in mine.
